Ballroom Dancing

Bedford High Sports and Performing Arts Complex runs Ballroom Dancing lessons every Wednesday evening during the school term-time for 12-16 year olds and for adults, in separate lessons.

The classes are led by an experienced and qualified dance teacher on a Wednesday evening in the Sports and Performing Arts Complex Theatre. The theatre has a large dancing area, enabling all dancers to dance more freely in the large space. Everyone between the ages of 12-16yrs is welcome to the Beginners class between 6:30-7:30pm. For any adults wishing to learn a new skill in a fun and social environment lessons will run between 7:30-8:30pm. These classes are open to all and there is a possibility (on completion of a full term and at the discretion of the tutor) that you can be assessed in order to gain a Social Dance Award in Ballroom Dancing.

The Ballroom Dancing classes are not only fun and energetic but for school pupils the classes can also be used as a way of accruing points towards Community Action & Services within the International Baccalaureate as well as the Duke of Edinburgh's award scheme. The classes are run in a fun, relaxing way creating an excellent learning environment for all.

If you are interested in joining the Ballroom Dance classes and would like to get more information please email sportman2@bedfordhigh.co.uk. The next term will start in January 2009.
