In June 2009, the Trustees of The Bedford Charity (The Harpur Trust) made the decision to merge Bedford High School for Girls and Dame Alice Harpur School.

The new school, Bedford Girls' School, will be a day school for girls ages 7 to 18.  This means that the current boarding offer at Bedford High School for Girls will gradually be phased out.

In September 2010, we will be welcoming our final intake of boarding pupils, who will complete their Sixth Form education with us, and we regret that there are currently no further vacancies.
