Combined Cadet Force Annual General Inspection
Although smaller than usual, this year's AGI was a great success. The practices paid off and the parade was executed with crisp efficiency.
The inspecting officer was Group Captain Malcolm Evans RAF, Chief of staff for Air Cadets. The inspection took place under near-perfect conditions: the sun stayed in until the afternoon, and a gentle breeze prevailed over the inspection and parade.
After lunch, the Navy section took part in sailing and diving demonstrations, whilst the rest of the contingent moved around a circus of activities; an obstacle course, tug-o-war, drill, a command task and shooting on the range could all score points in the afternoon's competition.
After the final race- a play-off between the two fastest teams around the obstacle course - prizes and leavers' medals were awarded.
Best Navy recruit for BHSG was awarded to Lilla To, whist the equivalent army prize went to Shevaun Davis and the RAF prize to Ester Pile.
The head of RAF, Emma D'Souza, was named as highest achieving cadet, and Anastasia Whitlock was given a prize for highest score on Cadre.
Emma D'Souza was also given a surprise promotion to Cadet Warrant Officer, a reward for her exceptional achievement, and Olivia Phelps was promoted to Flight Sergeant.
In the evening Officers, NCOs and guests donned their best evening wear to attend the AGI dinner.
Well done to all those who took part, including Po Rogers, who completed her first AGI.
