Fashion Show 2009 by Jade Bishi
The 2009 Fashion Show, which was held in the main school hall, was an extraordinary event which was sold-out very quickly. It was truly a night to remember, which was held in aid of the Jeanette Crizzle Trust and the Upper VI Leavers Ball.
Pupils from both the High School and Bedford School demonstrated their hard work and dedication in the preparation and presentation of this memorable event. Opening with a Bond-themed performance, the school officers and monitors of both schools did not fail to impress the audience.
There were a number of groups with designated themes which included ‘Evolution, Recycling, London and even Sophisticated Phunk'. The groups flaunted a range of different breathtaking costumes down the catwalk; some donated by local businesses, whilst others were designed by the students themselves. ‘Recycling' especially wowed the audience with their ‘eco-friendly' dresses, which were made of paper and plastic.
The students showed off enviable hairstyles created by Indulge Hairdressing of Harpur Street. A raffle draw was also held in which many remarkable prizes were won. Prizes included a bottle of champagne, chocolates and even lingerie from Amanda Jane!
All in all, the 2009 Fashion Show was a big success, and could not have taken place without all the hard work and effort of the students and staff of both schools. Special thanks to Charlotte McClean, the tech group and all the group leaders who helped to organise the event.
