Summer Picnic - by Clare Greenwood and katie Meredith
In three words: a huge success.
The perfect weather added to the general, cheerful atmosphere of the Parents Association Summer picnic this year, as many girls, parents, staff and friends turned up to spend the afternoon at Beverley Crescent.
There were fun and games for the more athletic individuals, including a bouncy castle, a gladiators game and small stalls, not to mention the sports events and the ever popular stocks, which offered a chance to cool down.
For those who wanted a touch of Wimbledon, a tent sold strawberries and cream, Pimms and cream teas.
In a new venture, the charity committee was represented, bringing a stall in aid of Breakthrough cancer. Wristbands and stickers were exchanged for donations, and in excess of £90 was raised. There were also information booklets and informative posters available.
