Summer BBQ
On Saturday 3rd July, the Parents Association hosted a Summer BBQ in order to bid the Junior School a fond farewell as they leave us to create Bedford Girls' School. It was held in the Junior School Playground, and luckily, due to the perfect weather (lovely and sunny but not too hot!) and the excellent organisation, everyone had a great time.
The Charities Committee went along to the event, and with a selection of stalls, raised a magnificent £325 for the School's Charities! The largest fundraiser was the tombola which offered a range of prizes including stuffed toys, jewellery and bath toiletries! However, a huge thank you must go to the girls who did some fantastic face paintings, and sold some lovely cakes! Furthermore, with over 20 prizes, nearly everyone was a winner in our Raffle, drawn by Mrs Royden and Mrs Quantrill, and we saw many families leave with beaming smiles on their faces!
In general, it was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, and our thanks goes to the organisers, for allowing us to use the opportunity to raise such a great amount for charity, especially so close to the end of term! And, of course, Ms Galvez, who once again gave up her own Saturday afternoon for this event!
