Year 7 Transition Day
The whole of year 7 and the upcoming year 6 along with our new intake recently took part in a Science and Technology day run by the Bedfordshire Business Partnership.
It was hugely successful with girls pairing up in a buddy situation so that girls in the younger age group could make new friends with the older girls to help them feel more at home when coming into the Senior School in September.
We saw miniature rockets, hovercrafts and powered cars being made from scratch and then test driven in the playground to find a winner. This caused great hilarity and cheering as some travelled a long way and others disintegrated near the starting line.
In the latter part of the afternoon we were joined by the parents to meet key members of staff and to hear more about the practicalities of being in year 7 and to have any of their questions answered.
The girls met with their new tutors and then everyone was reunited at teatime. My thanks to all those who attended and who helped to get our new intake off to such a 'flying' start.
