Sixth Form Success at BHSG
Today's 100% pass rate at A Level, hot on the heels of last month's impressive International Baccalaureate (IB) results, provides further evidence of the academic success of Sixth Form pupils at Bedford High School for Girls.
A 52% A grade equivalent (combining the IB and A Level results) and 74% A and B grade equivalent combined is impressive by any standards, and it should be remembered that these girls are also very active in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
"I am so proud," said Julie Eldridge, Head of the school, "there have been so many individual successes and the overall performance is most impressive. The girls here are amazing as they do so much in addition to what they achieve academically."
All seven girls with offers from Oxbridge have also received confirmation of having secured their places. Charlotte McClean, Frankie Hill, Didi Ogede, Ellie Piggott, Chein Lim, Yoyo Zhou and Rachel Chen will now study subjects as wide ranging as Medicine, Politics Philosophy and Economics (PPE), Theology, Languages, Education, Maths and Materials Science.
A third of the girls achieved three or more straight As and Agatha Chzhou excelled with 5 A grades in Economics, Physics, Maths, Chemistry and Chinese.
With the 100% pass rate at A Level and IB, the girls have demonstrated their ability across the curriculum. Outstanding results in Sciences, Maths, Modern Languages and Economics mean that BHSG students are fully equipped to move on to their first choice university places around the world.
