HRH The Countess of Wessex
The Junior School has had another busy term of fundraising for various charities.
In October, the girls planted Spring bulbs in containers to mark the 70th anniversary of the start of World War Two. The money raised, amounting to £113.65, was sent to The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association.
November was an exciting month with poppies sold on behalf of the British Legion Poppy Appeal, ninety-two shoeboxes filled with gifts for The Samaritan's Purse Charity "Operation Christmas Child" and £267 raised for Children in Need. We completed our charitable giving by collecting T-shirts and fleeces on "Make a Difference Day", to be used by the local Guildhouse for craft activities.
We were also fortunate enough to be invited to meet HRH The Countess of Wessex at a presentation given by Canine Partners. This was in acknowledgement of the magnificent sum of £900 raised last year by the Junior School. We hope to continue to support them this year.
Many thanks to all the girls and their parents for their genorosity this term.
