MathMagic by Iona Wilson, L3P
All Year 6 pupils from Bedford High School for Girls, Dame Alice Harpur School and Bedford Preparatory School recently joined together to play MathMagic. It was a tiring yet enjoyable morning being the hostesses.
There were about 180 children: 80 boys from Bedford School;60 girls from Dame Alice;40 girls from Bedford High. Mrs Pettifar and Mrs Copp were running the event and, thanks to them, it all ran smoothly!
The overall winners were girls; Sunny from Bedford High School for Girls, Abigail and Ellie from Dame Alice Harpur School.
There was actually one pair, Isabelle Gurney, Head Girl of Bedford High School for Girls and a girl called Clarissa from Dame Alice Harpur School, who managed to put a tile in the middle of the 3x3 square! Isn't that amazing? I was kind of amazed that anyone managed that because it is quite difficult.
I really enjoyed this event and made a lot of new friends.
