Investigating Historical Bedford

Junior School

On Wednesday 7th November, Year 3 visited The Higgins Museum as part of their historical enquiry into Bedford. We tracked Bedford’s history through an interactive timeline and looked at how it had changed from prehistoric times to modern day. Standing on the site of the old castle, the girls tried to imagine the experiences of men, women and children living at that time.

The girls used maps and photographs to compare and contrast changes throughout history, looked at a range of historical artefacts and worked as a team to place these on a timeline.

Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their experience as time travellers and it was lovely to see the buzz and excitement, as they discovered new facts and shared these with us.
