BGS golf star, Róisín Scanlon (Year 10), is continuing her incredible rise in the women’s game, with her latest success in The Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship.

In a closely contested tournament, Roisin tied 4th in golf's prestigious junior major tournament.

The Telegraph finals is a showcase for the UK’s most prodigious young talents with the event sponsored by Justin Rose. During the summer months over 17,000 entrants were narrowed down through qualifying events to 24 finalists (12 boys & 12 girls). This year the finals were held at Quinta do Lago, South course in Portugal of which the finals celebrated its 50th anniversary.

Roisin was lying in 2nd place going into the final round but on this occasion the putter let her down and she fell back to tied 4th.  This was Roisin’s 2nd time qualifying for the tournament finals when in 2019 was the youngest ever finalist at the age of 12.

This fantastic achievement follows on from the English Women’s County Finals where Roisin and her Buckinghamshire team finished as runners up.

Many congratulations, Roisin!
