Senior School Charity

By Mrs Cruse (Head of Years 7 and 8)

As part of our ethos for Years 7 and 8, we believe it is very important to empathise with those who are less fortunate than others; this is particularly important as we head to start our celebrations of Christmas.

On Friday 2nd December, Year 7 enjoyed their annual service afternoon, where they learnt about the school charity FACES and the incredible work they do with families to build a better future for them.

The Year 8 Committee delivered a presentation to all the students, explaining how the charity helps people in the local community and how their Christmas boxes and presents will be shared with the families which FACES help and support.

The Year 7 students then made some Christmas cards for the families to send to their friends and loved ones. While they were busy wrapping the gifts, they sang along to Christmas songs and had a lovely hot chocolate to enjoy.

Jasmine Lang (Year 7) said: “I really enjoyed the afternoon service as it made me feel really good wrapping gifts for other people and working with my friends. I hope to join the FACES committee in Year 8.”

Thank you very much to everyone who donated such wonderful gifts. I am always so proud of all the students who give their time and thoughts to others at this time.
