Whole School Community

We would like to wish the following members of our inspirational BGS community all the very best of luck as they continue to run in these dark damp days in preparation for the London (Sunday 23rd April) and Manchester (16th April) Marathons and for all their amazing fundraising efforts to date – we are very proud of you all!

Miss Coote (Junior School Teacher) will be running the 26.2 miles in support of Cynthia Spencer Hospice based in Northamptonshire, she said: “I have seen first-hand how much of a difference they make and I can’t wait to support them with continuing their amazing and essential work for the community.”

Mrs Reeves (BHS 2011 alumna and BGS Head Rowing Coach) is running the London Marathon for Team Breathe, which is supporting Asthma + Lung UK, she said: “This is a cause that is very close to my heart, and I hope to have lots of fun training and running whilst raising lots of pennies for a fantastic cause!”

BHS 2012 alumnae, Anna Woboys, Rosie Leech & Felicity Towler are all running together for Cardiac Risk in the Young.

Eloise Bailey (BGS 2020) and Emma Watt (BGS 2014) are both raising awareness and funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Angela Stango (DAHS 2000) is putting in lots of miles for Breast Cancer Now.

Sitara Johns (DAHS 2010) will be running the Manchester Marathon in aid of Turvey Overseas Education Support.

Additional good wishes to Whizz Middleton (née Shaw, BHS 1998) and Ruth Riisnaes (DAHS 1973) who are also training hard in inclement conditions. Whizz is hosting the ‘Trek 24’ fundraising walk event at her family farm in Lilley, in aid of the East Anglia Air Ambulance, and Ruth is taking part in the Marsden March again, raising funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
