The summer athletics season has made a triumphant return with a plethora of fiercely contested competitions. On Tuesday 16th May, our Junior (Years 7 and 8) and Intermediate (Years 9 and 10) athletics teams travelled to Corby Athletics Stadium, where they participated in the Northants and Bedfordshire county Track and Field Cup round one.

Throughout the day, our athletes showcased their abilities in two events each, delivering fantastic performances. Notable achievements included Danae Karavaggelis (Year 10) achieving a personal best in her triple jump score, and Jaya Hall setting a new personal best record in the 200m, completing it in an impressive time of 27.7 seconds.

Each athlete had to compete in two events, amassing valuable points for their efforts. Among them, Jessica Parrish (Year 10) shone brightly, individually accumulating a staggering 37 points across her two events. Megan Barnicoat (Year 7) secured an impressive 36 points, while Sienna Burger (Year 8) and Neva Grimshaw (Year 9) showcased their skills, scoring 34 and 33 points respectively.

Both our Junior and Intermediate teams earned a commendable second place, securing their spot in the upcoming East Anglia B regional final, scheduled to take place on Tuesday 13th June.
