Whole School Alumnae

Many congratulations to music agent and Bedford High School alumna, Emma Banks (1986), who has been appointed Chair of music therapy charity, Nordoff and Robbins.

In her new role, Emma will oversee Nordoff and Robbins' work using music therapy to help those living with life-limiting illness, disability, and social isolation. She will also lead the charity’s new aims: using music to address injustice across society, lobbying for policy change on behalf of its clients, and encouraging a ‘more diverse pool of musicians’ to train as music therapists.

In May 2023, Emma was the winner of the prestigious Strat Award at the Music Week Awards showcase. This is awarded annually to an industry icon.

Emma is the Co-Head of the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in London and is one of the most successful and respected talent agents in the music business. Her current roster includes Katy Perry, Arcade Fire, Florence + The Machine, Kylie Minogue, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many others.

A multifaceted businesswoman, Emma is also the Vice-Chairman of Premier League football club, Luton Town, and the owner of the racehorse Lady Bowthorpe.
