£1,100 for RAPIDThe Junior School girls were delighted to welcome Mark Conway, a rescue team member, and Parth Pradeep Joshi from India, to a special presentation of the money they had raised for the charity Rescue and Preparedness in Disaster (RAPID) http://www.rapidsar.org.uk/. Parth was in England to conclude his hospital appointments to fit a prosthetic limb, which have taken place each year since his rescue from the destruction caused by the Indian earthquake of 2001. RAPID has been able to fund Parth's visits which must now end as he is 18 years old. The cheques for over £1,100 were presented to Mark and Parth by Grace Cook, a member of year 5 and Junior School Head Girls for 2008-09, Antonia Illingworth and Lily Smith, both in year 3.
