Chapel Choir at St Margaret's, King's Lynn
Chapel Choir recently sang evensong at St Margaret's, King's Lynn.
This magnificent church represents the former importance of this town and port. Charles Burney, the music historian and associate of Handel, was once organist at St Margaret's and his daughter, Fanny Burney, is often considered to be the first English novelist.
The splendid Snetzler organ was superbly played by Mr Bond and the service was well received by the local congregation.
The choir was congratulated on the quality of the psalm singing, which is no mean achievement for a choir which does not sing psalms on a weekly basis.
Mr Fricker sang the responses and we are grateful to Mr Leitner for driving one of the minibuses.
Of equal enjoyment to the music was the visit to Hunstanton earlier in the day. The sea air was obviously of great benefit to the girls' voices.
