Food Technology by Harneet Johal
On Wednesday 9 June 2009 we did Pizza making and it was great fun. The teachers that were guiding us through the course were Mrs Sayce and Mrs Surtees.
At first we had to make our bread dough, which is very traditional. Flour went all over my hand and my eyebrows. We always had to make our area clean and the teachers did an example, before we did what they told us to.
Then we got to put the sauce on and put it in the oven for 1 minute. We added the toppings. I ate most of my toppings and I had to go back for the one for my pizza! Mrs Surtees showed us how we put the pizza in the oven and when she took hers out of the oven, my mouth was watering and I think everyone else's was as well.
The pizzas came out of the ovens and we had to put them on cooling tray and put our bag with our names underneath the pizzas and at 3:45pm we had to collect them.
Lastly we had to clean and dry all the dishes and put all the things away ready for the next group to come in and make their pizzas.
In conclusion, I had an excellent morning and learned lots of skills (that we need for the Senior School in Food Technology) whilst having loads of fun.
If next year we had to choose if we wanted to do Food Technology I would 100% say yes, without thinking. I know that everyone had a great time and that they wanted to do it again.
