Upper 4 at the British Museum

On Thursday June 26th, the U4 Classical Civilisation students visited the British Museum. We had a marvellous day, as the weather was kind so we could sit outside at lunchtime, and although our time was short, we saw many of the myths and legends we'd studied depicted on the vast array of vases on show!
We're now able to tell our Ionic from our Corinthian columns, and a lekythos from a hydria, to name but two vital pieces of information. . .
But best of all, seeing all the beautiful artifacts really brought to life the civilisation that we had until then only glimpsed on websites in our lessons. It was an excellent culmination to a year's study!
