Following on from the successes in the IB and A level examinations, GCSE candidates at Bedford High School for Girls have again produced a bumper crop of results. This first formal milestone in external examinations is the important springboard for Sixth Form, and eventually, University places. This year 28% of results were A*; 61% were either A*or A and 84% A*- B. Nearly a quarter of the girls in Year 11 achieved all A* or A grades and two girls achieved 10 A* grades. These girls will be the legacy year at Bedford High School before the full merger with Dame Alice Harpur School in 2012 and we look forward to their future success.

Despite what has been an unsettling year for us in many ways the girls have responded in the best possible way and I am extremely proud of their achievements.
