Relay for Life, 11 December 2008

17 October 2008

Next year, the School is planning to be involved with Cancer Research UKs signature event Relay for Life.

Relay for Life is a unique event which honours Cancer Survivors, remembers those lives taken away by cancer and educates the community into cancer prevention. The event runs overnight and includes a survivors lap and candle of hope ceremony.

We are holding a special evening to showcase Relay For Life at the School on Thursday 11 December from 7.00pm and are inviting you to come along and find out more about the event and the work of Cancer Research UK in your area.

There will be a chance for you to hear from one of Cancer Research UK's Senior Research Nurses, talk to other volunteers, see a DVD about the charities work and find out about opportunities to support Relay For Life and the wider Cancer Research UK organisation.

The event will start at 7.00pm with a welcome from local Cancer Research UK staff and volunteers, and will then continue with a presentation explaining the unique concept of Relay For Life. The event will conclude with a question and answer session.

We welcome those who you who may be interested in attending and we hope you will encourage your friends and family to find out more about this exciting new event called Relay For Life.
