Shakespeare 4 Kidz

We are intending to visit The Castle Theatre, Wellingborough, on Wednesday 1 October 2008.  We will be taking the Upper 2 and Lower 3 girls and we will be watching a performance of Romeo and Juliet by the Shakespeare 4 Kidz company.

The company is renowned for its delivery of Shakespeare and always manages to portray the famous plays in a way that children can enjoy and understand.  Having seen their productions before, I can vouch for their excellence and have watched many children (and adults!) converted by the end of the show!

Both year groups spend some time studying elements of Shakespeare; looking at plots, language and characters.  The performances have proved to be valuable reinforcement to this work.

This year we have booked to attend the afternoon performance which starts at 1.30pm.  The girls will have a packed lunch at school and then leave on coaches for the theatre.  We are expecting that the girls will be returned to school by 4.30pm for collection from the Junior School entrance in Adelaide Square.
