Assessment
Sixth Form students do not attend an Assessment Day, though we will request a current school report and reference. If your daughter is taking GCSEs or IGCSEs, it is likely she will be offered a conditional place based on her GCSE or IGCSE results.
Entry criteria for the Sixth Form are 7 GCSE passes at grades A to C with either an A or B in the subjects they choose to study at A Level.
If she is not taking GCSEs, she will be asked to sit Entrance Exams in her chosen subjects or a related subject at A Level, including an EAL (English as an Aditional Language) paper.
If your daughter wishes to study the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme she may be offered a place based on her interview at Bedford High School for Girls and current school report and reference, or we may decide to assess her in the three subjects chosen at higher level.
Late entry candidates can be considered but entry is subject to place availability. It should be noted that bursary places are not usually available after the main assessment period.
