Almshouse Summer Party!
On Monday the 28th of June 2010, a group of volunteers from Bedford High School for Girls were invited to Bedford School for the annual ‘Almshouse Summer Party' for the elderly.
The girls worked with the Bedford School boys in serving the guests, keeping the guests company and engaging them in conversation. There was entertainment provided by students from The Pilgrims, Bedford School, Bedford High School for Girls, Dame Alice Harpur School for Girls and Bedford Modern School.
The Bedford High School Girls performed some highlights from the recent Junior School production of Oliver. The event was rounded up with a karaoke session for the guests. It was a memorable experience that taught the girls valuable opportunity to relate to elderly people.
