D of E Expedition Training Day
D of E Expedition Training Day
Last Sunday over 40 girls from both the L5 and 6th form took part in a D of E Training Day at the school field. The aim of the day was to learn skills in preparation for a walking and camping weekend; these skills included compass work, putting up tents, cooking and learning about appropriate kit.
It was a great day; the girls had fun, learnt lots and thankfully we did not have a single drop of rain.
Thanks to Ms Birch, and to Julia, Molly and Emily from the 6th form and also to Mrs Ross for masterminding it all.
We hope the girls remember the skills they have learnt. Getting lost on the school field is tricky - we would prefer they did not get lost in Bedfordshire - don't forget the compass work!!
