Bumper crop of IB results
6th form students are celebrating an outstanding set of IB results, with Charlotte McClean achieving a maximum 45 points with 7 points in each subject and winning a place at Cambridge to study Medicine.
Francesca Hill has been awarded a place to read Medieval and Modern Languages at Cambridge and other IB students are celebrating gaining places to read Law at LSE, Music with French at Royal Holloway and Modern Languages at Durham. Some of the students are going on to study Medicine and others are moving on to business courses at top British and international universities.
These superb results, with an average score of 35.8, the best in the School's history of offering the IB, come swift on the heels of an impressive inspection report. They confirm Bedford High's role as an excellent place in which to study the IB.
The Headmistress, Julie Eldridge, praised not only the academic achievements of the class of 2009, but also the contribution these students have made to the life of the school as a whole. "I am very proud to have worked with such enthusiastic and hard-working students. How they found time to juggle their roles as School Officers, CCF leaders and all the other contributions they made to the life of the school AND their workload I do not know!"
