Debates and Public Speaking
Two BHSG teams participated in the Cambridge Union National Debating Competition recently and both are through to the next regional round. As some of them were not very experienced, this is tremendous.
The teams were: Eleanor Piggott and Alice Feast, and Frankie Hill and Charlotte McClean.
Congratulations also to our Sixth Form public speaking team comprised of Emily Crizzle, Francesca Hill and Doyin Fagbenro who completed the first round of the Rotary Youthspeaks Competition held in the Council Chambers.
The team gave a sparkling performance and the audience enjoyed their witty presentation. The judges were no less impressed and awarded them first place.
Francesca was also awarded the Dudley Peacock prize for the best speaker of the night.
