Theatre

The Theatre within Bedford High Sports and Performing Arts Complex is a fully functioning professional setup.

During the School day the Theatre is in constant use for Dance, Drama and extra curricular lessons, as well as for year-group assemblies and larger lecture style lessons.

During the evenings and at weekends the Theatre, as with all of the facilities within the Sports and Performing Arts Complex, becomes completely available for public use.

The Theatre has fully retractable tiered seating for upto 156 people, with a cinema sized projection screen, High Definition projector and stereo sound. Bedford Film Society (opens in new window) have been using the Theatre at Bedford High School for Girls since September 2006, showing 20 films per season on two evenings per week.

The Theatre is also equipped with wireless internet access, as well as cumputer terminals in order to project onto the main screen direct from laptops.

The lighting rig in the Theatre is adjustable to suit the demands of hirers for productions and plays, while the sound system is able to play sound from CD's, minidisc and microphones.

At other times during the week the Theatre is used for Ballroom Dancing, Judo classes, High Performance Youth Theatre and Birthday Parties.
